This is the recto of the first back flyleaf of Volume 1 of the 1851 George P. Putnam First Edition, Version 3.

A clean, edited reading copy of George P. Putnam's first edition of The Wide, Wide World.

Volume 2 of the 1851 George P. Putnam is covered with a blue leather grain embossed buckram (labeled Lea5 by the Library Company of Philadelphia). The front and back covers have an arabesque border. Both front and back panels have a publisher's mark, a scroll work "P." The title is gilt-stamped at the top of the spine; "Putnam" is gilt-stamped at the bottom edge of the spine.

This copyright page for 1851 George P. Putnam 1st Edition, Vol 2 shows that this book was entered into the "Clerk's Office of the District Court for the Southern District of New-York," in 1850.

This is the title page to the second volume of the 1851 George P. Putnam first edition, version three. The title is printed in the upper quarter of the page with a period. The author's name, Elizabeth Wetherell, is printed in the center of the page with a period, followed by an inscription taken from the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem, "To a Child." Volume II is printed below this inscription, and the address of George Putnam is listed as, "155 Broadway, New York."
