Ward, Lock, and Co. used this dark green, cloth-covered binding for their 1892 edition of The Wide, Wide World.  The light blue and yellow flowers with black outlined leaves surround the title on the cover.  Below the flowers "The Pansy Series" is stamped in black ink.

Ward, Lock, and Co. used this red, cloth-covered binding for an [1882] edition of The Wide, Wide World. The title is placed in front of stamped white lilies. A stamped ribbon is wrapped around the base of the flowers denoting this book is part of "The Lily Series."  The cover also uses black ink stamping on top of the red cloth, forming a border and a background for the white lilies.

This black and white illustration, appearing on page 350a of the [1910] R. F. Fenno & Company reprint, depicts Ellen accompanying Mr. Van Brunt into the woods. A caption below the illustration quotes a sentence from page 350 and reads, "Always a basket for flowers went along." In the illustration, Mr. Van Brunt and Ellen walk side by side as they enter the woods. Mr. Van Brunt holds an ax over his shoulder as he smiles down at Ellen. Ellen carries a basket over her arm and several flowers in her hand as she looks up at Mr. Van Brunt. They are surrounded by trees and other foliage. In the background are rolling hills with a small house set atop one of the hills.

This black and white illustration, found on page 450a of the [1907] Grosset & Dunlap reprint, depicts Ellen standing at Alice's deathbed. In the illustration, Ellen is standing inside the enclosed space of Alice's bed curtain. Ellen is placing lilies and roses that she is holding in her apron around the sleeping Alice's head. A caption below the illustration reads, "And she'd lay a rose here and and a rosebud there." The scene depicted in this illustration is on page 450.
