This is in the first page of back advertisements in the 1853 T. Nelson & Sons "Nelson's Library for Travellers and the Fireside" reprint. This page is surrounded by a thin boarder with book ornaments in each corner. At the top of the page is the publisher and their publication cities. Underneath the publisher is a simple zierrat followed by a bolded "CABINET EDITIONS OF THE POETS," with the subtitle "BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED WITH ENGRAVINGS ON STEEL." in a smaller font. The first three listings are classified as "Now Ready". These are:The Life and Poetical Works of Thomas Campbell, Cowper's Poetical Works, and Longfellow's Poetical Works. All of these titles are accompanied by a short paragraph. Underneath these three titles is another simple Zierrat which leads to the "BOOKS FOR THE FAMILY LIBRARY" section. These titles include: The Christian Missionary, Forester's Life of Sarah B. Judson, Reverand Hollis Read's The Young Lady's Companion, and The Hand of God in History, The Planetary and Stellar worlds, Elijah the Tishbite, Krummacher's Elisha, and Bogatsky's Golden Treasury.

This black and white frontispiece is from the 1853 Nelson & Sons "Library for Travellers and the Fireside" Reprint. It depicts a scene from page 43, where Ellen and her mother are in the Parlour. Ellen's other sits in her chair, her daughter kneeling before. Behind them is a little table, facing an open window. On the table, is a basket of birds. The quote at the bottom of the image says, "Now, mamma, these birds are mine you know, and I give them to you. You must pay me a kiss for them, mamma; they are worth that.--Page 43.

This black and white illustration, appearing as the title page vignette to the 1853 T. Nelson and Sons reprint, depicts Ellen preparing to mount The Brownie. A caption below the illustration quotes a sentence from page 11 and reads, "Looking round sometimes, as if to make sure that it was herself, and giving a little kind of satisfied neigh when he saw that it was," and conveys the closeness of Ellen and her horse. In the illustration, Ellen stands on a tree stump, wearing a straw hat and apron, and grabs The Brownie's reigns as she prepares to mount him. A dog sits in front of The Brownie looking up at Ellen. The right side of the illustration is framed by foliage while an open field extends into the background of the left side of the illustration.

The text of the page is outlined by a text box with book ornaments in each corner. At the top, the publisher and location is printed. A simple zierrat comes above "New Illustrated Works" in larger font. These works are, Romaunt's The Island Home, and Pictures of Travel and Adventure. There is another Zierrat which leads to the next section, "The Royal Juvenile Library" the price is listed as a subtitle to this.
