Description

This is the illustration on page 336b of the 1853 H.G. Bohn Reprint, Version 2 Depicting Ellen churning butter. This black and white image shows Ellen down in the cellar churning butter, as Johnny comes down the stairs. The room is shown as very dark, with only the light from the window for guidance. Ellen is dressed in dark colors, as she looks over her shoulder to see her visitor. On the floor is a large basin to her left. At the bottom of the image is a title of the illustrations scene "Ellen Churning".
