Following the author is stated "With a Preface" In gothic-style font. Rev. C. B. Tayler is credited underneath with the preface. Between two simple zierrats underneath appears "WITH TWELVE ILLUSTRATIONS BY M. E. DEAR.". Beneath the illustration credit is an excerpt from Longfellow's "To a Child." The page ends with the publisher and their address.
