This 4-colored illustration from page 254a of the 1887 James Nisbet & Co. "Golden Ladder Series, New Edition" Reprint. The image depicts Ellen reading to her Grandma in the kitchen, but the shadowed stairs. Ellen is dressed in blue with a red petticoat. Grandma is wearing blue and red, as well as a white apron. Grandma knits, smiling, as Ellen reads aloud "The Joyful News".

This black and white illustration, appearing on page 375 of the 1896 Hodder and Stoughton reprint, depicts Ellen meeting The Brownie. Ellen stands next to Ellen Chauncey as Sophia Marshman watches Ellen from a distance. Thomas leads The Brownie to the front of the porch where Ellen can see him. Captain Parry, Alice's cat, stands near Ellen's feet. Several trees and bushes stand behind The Brownie, and an open field extends into the distance. The busyness in the foreground of the illustration, accentuated by the multiple characters appearing in the scene, is relieved by the landscape in the background as the scene opens up into nature.

This black and white illustration on page 560, of the 1903 J.B. Lippincott Co. "New Edition" reprint, depicts Ellen reuniting with John in Scotland. In the illustration, Ellen and John are sitting on a sofa. Ellen's white dress is a stark contrast to John's dark suit. Ellen is resting her head on John's shoulder and John resting one of his hands on hers and his arm is around her shoulders. This illustration was first used on page 560 of the 1892 J.B. Lippincott Co. "New Edition" reprint (see 9CIA).

This is the illustration on page 18a of the 1853 H.G. Bohn Reprint, Version 2 Depicting Ellen and Mamma reading in the parlour. The black and white image depicts Ellen reading the Bible to Mamma in the parlour. Mamma is sitting on her couch, with a blanket drapped over her, the tea set sitting on the table beside her. Ellen is sitting on an ottoman, her head bowed toward the book. The bottom of the illustration reads, "Ellen reading the Bible to her Mamma".

This is the illustration on page 86b of the 1853 H.G. Bohn Reprint, Version 2 Depicting Ellen in the kitchen with Aunt Fortune and Grandma. The black and white image depicts a scene where Ellen and her Grandmother are hugging, as Aunt Fortune looks on, setting the table for a meal. The title of the illustration is entitled, "Ellen and her Grandmama".

This black and white illustration, appearing on page 100a of the [1910] R. F. Fenno & Company reprint, depicts Ellen riding in the ox cart. A caption below the illustration quotes a sentence from page 100 and reads, "Slowly, very slowly, the oxen drew the cart." In the illustration, Ellen and Mr. Van Brunt sit in the ox cart, the path extending in front of and behind them as they prepare to turn a curve. A hill to their left is topped by a house and is spotted with trees while several other houses sit among the rolling hills ahead of them. Two birds circle over the houses.
