In the title page for Mershon Company's 1903 edition of the novel, the title is printed in the the top quarter of the page without a period. The author's name, Susan Warner, is printed in the page's middle. This is followed by two separate titles by the author, the volume number, and a decorative pinwheel resembling a daisy. Mershon Company's address is listed as "New York."

This front pastedown, from the 1883 James Nisbet & Co. "New Edition," includes a school prize plate pasted in with royal blue print. The prize plate is presented by the Ricardo Street School to Lily Plank [Plant], who "in Standard III attended punctually and regularly during the two School Quarters ended Xmas 1882 and March 1883." The prize plate is signed by Head Teacher Catherine Combs. "SCHOOL BOARD FOR LONDON." is printed on the top of the plate in an all-caps serif type. Parts of the interior text are printed in a script type, with the name of the school, the student, teacher, grade level, and ending dates of the quarters hand-written. The text, "BOOK AWARDED FOR PUNCTUAL AND REGULAR ATTENDANCE." is printed along the side in a serif font, with each word given its own line. Finely laced and printed lines divide portions of the prize plate.

This illustration, appearing as the frontispiece to the 1883 James Nisbet and CO. reprint, depicts Ellen receiving a letter from home. The inscription reads "The Letter from Home" which is based on the events that take place on page 353. This image is in color unlike the image it is based on.

James Nisbet and CO. included this Table of Contents in their 1883 edition of The Wide, Wide World. This page is the first page of the Table of Contents for this edition and lists the first 19 chapters.

The author's pseudonym Elizabeth Wetherell is printed in the page's middle. Below the pseudonym is a list of eight seperate works by the author. Hutchinson & CO.'s address is listed as "London 34, Paternoster Row."
