Ellen is resting her head on John's shoulder and John resting one of his hands on hers and his arm is around her shoulders.

Mr. Lindsay's gaze is upon Ellen, while her eyes are leveled at the wine decanter. In her right hand she holds a biscuit that she has picked up from a small plate in her lap.
